Chef Jeff Scheer

Leading the innovative culinary team at The Mill House is Executive Chef Jeff Scheer.  From a small town in southeastern Ohio, Jeff was drawn to the kitchen at a young age, acquiring his love for cooking from his grandmother.

Studying and apprenticing (both in the kitchen and in the fields) throughout California and Oahu, upon arriving in Maui, Jeff knew he had found home.  Following graduation from the Maui Culinary Academy in 2008, a small private chef business evolved into "Maui Executive Catering" and its coveted Chef’s Table events.

Now at the helm of The Mill House dining experience and all the venues it encompasses at Maui Tropical Plantation, Jeff is creating the ultimate "farm to table" model by growing and sourcing unique and timely ingredients that are literally yards from the kitchen.  This translates to an experience that is varied, endlessly creative....and unique on the island of Maui.

With an 18+ year career in the restaurant industry, spanning Tel Aviv, Paris and Manhattan, Lee Oren has served multiple roles in fine food establishments, ranging from a Michelin 3-star restaurant, to a family owned patisserie.  Her focus has remained the same; fine ingredients, attention to details, and providing a memorable dining experience.  From the development of the cocktail and wine menus, to imbuing the ever-evolving dining menu with sustainability and local culture, Lee’s passion at The Mill House is to dazzle our guests, leaving them inspired, satisfied and returning for a fresh, new experience.
